      Super Mario Odyssey

I'm not nearly to 100%. The number of moons borders on obnoxious if I'm being completely frank. I have finished the main campaign and
      in the post game.

Tl;dr It's good, but I don't feel like it's as good as its largely being made out to be. There are some instances where the Camera really fights with the controls, occasionally instances where the dynamic resolution absolutely tanks for a few frames for no apparent reason, a lot of repeating puzzles/objectives/boss fights (Even outside the post game). It has some really spectacular music though, and a few of the Kingdom's (Forest and Bowser, namely) could definitely be in the running for best level design of all time. If I was going to score it I'd probably settle around an 8.5 - really good, with brief glimpses of something really amazing. It's not unseating BotW as my GotY at any rate.

I'm pretty much in tow with these thoughts as well... though I will say, some of the later Moons in the post game can get absolutely devilish and insanely fun to get.

Also, I found myself enjoying the game MUCH more when I began to think of it as an "Adventure Platformer" than just an outright Platformer.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night- This game is undoubtedly the pinnacle of the franchise. I loved discovering new abilities, weapons, and passageways.

            Horizon Zero Dawn

This is the most uneven game I've ever played. At times it's absolutely stunning to look at, but then the texture streaming shits the bed or a janky animation plays or an NPC gets stuck on something in the environment. At times absolutely spectacular music will kick in while you're in the world and it just drags you in... and then you get into combat and you come crashing right the hell back out to the tune of the most generic battle themes I've ever heard. At times you're engaging in some incredible examples of hitbox porn combat... and then you get stuck trying to run over a six inch high rock.

The whole game is like this. Every time you hit some incredible high you almost immediately crash down into some incredible low. It's absolutely maddening to play as a result. For these brief moments the game is absolutely exceptional - like industry redefining levels of amazing, but they never last. They're these brief sparks that are immediately interrupted by something janky, broken, or uninspired - every single time.

I'm glad I didn't play this back when it launched. Playing it right after BotW would not have invited good comparisons with all Horizons invisible walls and Uncharted inspired movement/climbing.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Lots of clipping. More than one bad guy ended up in a rock, a "heavy weapon" wound up in a staircase, a Watcher was on the other side of a tunnel wall. At one point I needed to kill every one in the room to progress and the last guy jerked and bounced his way behind a wall. Naturally. Fortunately, I was able to AoE him.

Overall, I liked the game. I just wish they would give you a trophy for finding all datapoints.

                Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I gotta let the entire thing digest first before I say anything truly definitive, but this is probably my least favorite of the Blade games... which is odd because it has some of my absolute favorite things (world building, exploration, cast, combat, music, etc.) from either of the Gears/Saga/Blade games.

I can't put my finger on what was missing. Maybe I'll have an answer after I sleep on it..

I guess the last game I completed was Fire Emblem Warriors. I have a lot of fun with the Musou games, but I know they aren't for everyone. There are several reasons that I like Fire Emblem Warriors more than Hyrule Warriors, you can tell the dev team learned a lot from developing Hyrule Warriors. This is all subjective, but I don't really care for the final roster of characters they went with, as I'm not a huge fan of Fire Emblem Fates and the roster is pretty much 50% all Fates characters, especially now after the first part of the DLC is out. Another issue is how many characters share the exact same moveset. This aspect is especially disappointing for certain characters like Marth and Celica, and how Takumi, Sakura, Niles, and Anna are all identical other than looks and slight stat variations.

It has that same addictive quality that Hyrule Warriors had, and they made the very very smart decision to randomly include Lyn. The theme of the game is Awakening, Fates, and Shadow Dragon. So when they announced Lyn from FE7, it seemed so random, but they did it because of how popular she is. She pretty much saved the roster for me personally too, so good thinking on Koei Tecmo's part.

Going high and falling into the dark again... Forgive my heart, never see you again.
I will remember love was illusion.
Don't turn around, I will go away... Leave you at the middle of nowhere in hell.
Forgive my sin, never feel you again.
You won't remember the time we were in love."

Over 12 months after release and me picking up the game on release day, I finally got around to finishing Final Fantasy XV's main story today.
I really liked the game overall, I thought there were some odd things in cut scenes or comments/dialogue made in game from time to time, especially toward the end (wont go into too much to avoid any potential spoilers). I was pleasantly surprised how emotional the ending sequences were though, I really didn't feel like I had a connection to the characters for most of the game, however the game wrapped up rather nicely. I wouldn't go and say this is my favourite FF or anything, I still think 8 was my favourite overall, but I do feel like they did a solid job, even though there are some aspects that I thought could have done with some more work.

Also finished Episode Gladious today which I actually quite liked. Was a little short, but after finishing the MSQ of FFXV and spending so much time in the game, I wasn't too miffed about having a linear/short adventure.

                    Next up is Prompto.
I long for that of which i dream of...

                        Nier Automata

I kept beating it and it kept getting better. It was always a normal opinion that Yoko Taro's talent and ambition was in excess of the studios and budgets he had, but I don't think anyone really understood just how true that was. A very close second to BotW for GotY 2017 in my opinion. Neir Automata will definitely end up on the shortlist of this generation.

Just finished Final Fantasy VII. This game is good.... FFX is still my favorite. I spent right at 80 hours playing, and I got 28 out of 36 achievements. That should be 29, but for some reason, I couldn't get Yuffie to learn her L4 limit break (glitch?). Anyway... whatever. maybe one day I'll go back and get the other achievements.

For Tifa's I found that the keyboard is easier to use than the controller (since I was playing on my computer).
