Still, they should stop having her write, some actors should just stick to acting
I did not realize they had Voice Actors write scripts for the dubs....I thought that was just for translators.

After the translation a dub needs a new script so really actors that understand how dubbing works isn't a bad idea. However that particular actor changed so much in her comedies, her other scripts for serious shows are fine but with comedy shes messes with the script far too much.

Looking at her credits I don't think she has done a comedy since Dragon Maid, makes me wonder if FUNimation put their foot down on her writing comedy.

The VA who did the script for the dub of Dragon Maid is none other than Jamie Marchi, who's currently at war with Vic.

Interesting. I would have thought that would go to actual writers for a new script and not that VA. I normally don't have a huge problem with the Dubs as of late. Now some of the older series had interesting dubs.....

It's what I'm thinking as well. I just wonder if things are not going to go downhill now that Funi has a new head. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

FUNi has a new head? When did that happen?

For a lot of these harem shows, I find that I can't remember the male lead's name most of the time even if I liked the show. For Date A Live, I remember several of the female character's names off the top of my head. Tohka, Origami, Kurumi, Yoshino, Kotori and others. I couldn't tell you what the male lead's name was without googling it. It's this way with a bunch of shows. Invaders of the Six-Tatami Mat Room!?, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou and Konosuba are the same way. I can tell you the female character's names for the most part but I can't remember what the guy's name is. I even have to think a beat to remember the name of the male lead from To Aru Majutsu no Index and he's the damn main character. Unlike a lot of others, the story is actually about him. I wonder if it's just because I am a heterosexual guy and so pay more attention to the female characters or if these guys are just so blah and similar that I can't remember their names.

Kazuma (Konosuba) is probably the only one I'm surprised you don;'t remember the name of, he's a hilarious character in his own right

He is less blah and more interesting than a lot of them. He's certainly more memorable than the guy from Re:Zero. Whatever his name was.

Also speaks to the fact that for as long as it's been around and it's popularity, American companies still consider anime "kid's stuff". Plus the mission statement is little more than a collection of buzzwords.

I saw that as well and thought the same thing. Despite the fact that 99 percent of anime isn't exactly kiddie Pokemon/Yugioh(is that even still a thing?) stuff, most Americans will always lump it in with the rest of animation no matter what....

I also hope this doesn't mean CR's just going to go for safe, family-friendly material and not take a risk every so often...because ****** I do NOT want to go to Funimation's crap site nor do I want to put up with pirate sites that keep directing me to porn.
